Cabarrus Detention Center Releases
The Cabarrus County Detention Center is the main adult local-custody facility operated by the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office. A person may leave after posting bond, receiving a court-ordered release, or completing a local sentence. Those events can lead back to the community. The same person may instead be delivered to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, another county, the United States Marshals Service, or ICE. That is release from Cabarrus County jail custody, but it is a transfer rather than community release.
The release or disposition code in the Sheriff record is central. It identifies the kind of event that ended the booking episode. Ask for the public transfer destination when the code indicates another agency. A charge list, bond amount, court date, or booking image can help match the correct episode, yet none replaces the recorded release time and code. Confirm Detention Center Release Records
The Cabarrus P2C inmate inquiry is a current-inmate tool. If a matching person appears, the Sheriff system reports that person in custody at the time of the view. If the name is absent, do not turn silence into a release finding. The roster publishes no release-only filter, update cadence, archive, or retention period.
- Search P2C by first and last name. Match age, arrest date, and other identifiers rather than relying on the name or photo alone.
- Save the observation time and any booking or case details. A P2C detail can include a Release Date field, but continued access after release is not promised.
- Check NC SAVAN through VINELink for the same identity and reporting facility. A reported event applies to that source agency only.
- Request the booking and release entry from Sheriff Civil and Records. Ask for the release time, code, and public receiving agency.
- Open the Cabarrus eCourts case for the signed order or judgment that explains the legal action.
- If the record shows a transfer, verify the next custodian through its official locator.
Note: Save the label and timestamp from each system because legal release, roster removal, and alert transmission can occur at different times.

Use the Sheriff JustFOIA form to request the booking number, admission date and time, release date and time, public release or disposition code, and public transfer destination. Chapter 132 does not require the Sheriff to build a new report or decide what several records imply. Seek the existing entry in its existing form.
Cabarrus Jail Release and Court Records
A jail release date and a court disposition answer different questions. The Sheriff entry records the end of the Cabarrus County Detention Center custody episode. A dismissal, plea, conviction, judgment, bond order, or signed release order explains what happened in the case. One may precede the other, and a second case or agency hold can keep the person confined after a favorable action.
Cabarrus adopted eCourts in October 2024. Search the North Carolina eCourts Portal, filter to Cabarrus, and use a case number when available. The Sheriff’s own P2C warning points readers to the Clerk for current disposition. The Clerk is at 61 Union Street South in Concord and can be reached at 704-262-5500 during published weekday hours.
Compare the signed court document with the Sheriff’s actual release time and code. A case marked disposed does not necessarily mean the person left the jail. Likewise, a bond amount does not prove payment, clearance of other holds, or completed release processing.
Cabarrus Detention Center Facts
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office operates this adult county jail. Its current public contact location is 30 Corban Avenue SE, Concord, NC 28025. Detention Services is 704-920-3058. The official detention center page links the public to the current-incarceration inquiry and other jail operations.
The official Sheriff sources do not publish release-processing times, an exit door, a family waiting area, weekend or holiday practice, property-at-release instructions, gate money, or rideshare rules. Call before traveling. A court schedule and bond display are not safe arrival-time estimates.

Cabarrus Jail Addresses and Releases
County documents reflect the detention complex’s change over time. A fiscal-year 2022 county facility list calls 20 Corban Avenue the Jail Annex. A historical budget says jail operations moved to new jail space at 40 Corban Avenue in June 2011. Current Sheriff pages direct the public to 30 Corban Avenue SE. These references describe parts or stages of one detention operation, not three public jails with separate release lists.
The county facility list documents the annex label, while the historical county budget records the earlier move. Use the Sheriff’s present public address for contact. Movement from one building in the complex to another is an internal placement change, not release.
This local history matters when an old document, notice, or memory supplies a different Corban Avenue number. Do not submit duplicate searches or infer that a person left custody because a building location changed. There is one public P2C lookup for the adult detention operation.
Cabarrus ICE Release Transfers
Cabarrus County has an ICE agreement and 287(g) history, but the present significance must not be overstated. A 2023 ICE PREA audit of the jail reported an ICE population of zero and stated that no ICE detainee had been held there since 2018. ICE is therefore a contingency path, not a routine Cabarrus release list.
If a future Sheriff entry says “released to ICE,” read it as a custodial handoff. Search the ICE Online Detainee Locator System promptly and call the displayed facility because transfers can occur. ODLS is designed chiefly for current detention. DHS says a person released more than 60 days ago can yield the same no-record response as someone never in ICE custody or an unsuccessful identity match.
A no-match result cannot supply a release date. Use the Sheriff’s transfer entry, the last known facility, the ICE Services Line at 1-888-351-4024, and an authorized records route. State only what each source reports while the chain remains unresolved.
Cabarrus Adult Release Boundaries
P2C and the Sheriff records process concern the adult county detention operation. They do not provide public youth records. The Cabarrus Regional Juvenile Detention Center is a state-operated temporary secure juvenile placement, and its records are confidential. Adult NCDAC Offender Search also does not cover ordinary juvenile custody or discharge.
State prison records require another distinction. Cabarrus County has no active adult NCDAC prison because Cabarrus Correctional Center closed in December 2011. A person convicted in Cabarrus may be housed anywhere in the state. If the county release code shows NCDAC transfer, search statewide by identity or the seven-digit offender number. Read current Inmate Status, community-supervision status, and the latest sentence instead of lifting an old Actual Release Date.
NC SAVAN can report an event from a participating source, but it does not merge every jail, prison, and federal system into one custody certificate. Identify the reporting agency. Then confirm the Sheriff release record or the receiving agency’s status.
